"It's only when caterpillarness is done that one becomes a butterfly. That again is part of this paradox. You cannot rip away caterpillarness. The whole trip occurs in an unfolding process of which we have no control." - Ram Dass

Caterpillarness?  Ram Dass is always killing it with his nonsense words.  I like to think that others would agree that to simplify ideas to the point of improvisation, to speak nonsense, sometimes makes the most sense.  Pictionary, texting, smiles, inside jokes -- this is where its at.  Where 'the whole trip occurs.'  Where you try to be so subtly deliberate but at the same time vague so as not to expedite the process to becoming a butterfly.  'Cause it's when you become a butterfly you're thrust into the spotlight and have to hold yourself accountable (that's always a tough one for most peeps).

I found this quote to be so timely and poignant, as it seems DROUGHT is in the thick of caterpillarness.  Defninitely a trip, minus the psychedelics, and certainly a process where there is a lot out of our control.  Thankfully, I've got a handful of babes (my sisters) helping me out with this one;  Making some major progress creating our own locus of comfort and compassion, and leaving a door open for control to enter whenever she's ready.  Meanwhile, we're sticking to our guns and are not taking no for an answer.

Current reasons to be excited:
- first employee without the last name James starts next week
- it's summertime
- Gourmet Underground Detroit picnic on Belle Isle next weekend
- apartment hunting
- making chia seed butter with the Norwalk
- getting our first ever order of 16 oz glass bottles tomorrow (!!!)
- Junior Boys are coming to Detroit
- going to the Catskills
